Tardy is a student planner that turns your Canvas coursework into a realistic weekly plan. Most of it works at every Canvas school today—no setup beyond pasting a link. A few of its most powerful features wait on a decision only your school can make. Here is the whole story, in plain language.
The reason
Canvas is the system your school uses to run classes online. Everything your professors post—assignments, due dates, how much each one counts toward your grade—is stored there, in an account your school manages for you.
Every student gets a personal calendar link: a simple, read-only list of upcoming assignments and due dates, designed to be added to apps like Google or Apple Calendar. Everything deeper—point values, grade weights, the complete list of every assignment—is only shown to apps your school has personally reviewed and connected.
Paste your link into Tardy and it imports your assignments and deadlines, then does its real work: summarizing each one, estimating how long it will take you, learning your pace, and planning your week around your actual schedule. No sign-off from anyone required.
Catching assignments that never show up in your calendar, or ranking work by how much of your grade it is worth—those depend on information the calendar link simply does not carry. Tardy has these features built. They stay switched off at your school until your school reviews Tardy and opens that door.
We think that’s the right rule. It’s your academic record—your school should get to decide which apps can read it. So Tardy asks schools for permission instead of asking students to work around them.

Schools review new Canvas integrations through their own IT process, usually started by a staff member—an academic-technology team, an advisor, or a dean's office. If you know someone who might sponsor Tardy, tell us when you sign up.
Tardy prepares security and privacy documentation for the review. If the school issues an official connection, we enable full-access features for its students.
Honest expectations:reviews follow each school’s own timeline—often a semester or longer—and approval is never guaranteed. Interest makes the conversation possible; it does not decide it. Every feature in the “available now” tier works either way.

No. Tardy asks schools for a data connection on behalf of their own students, not a purchase. The review effort is the only thing we are asking a campus to spend.

The everyday connection subscribes to the read-only iCalendar feed Canvas publishes for each student. Full access uses Canvas’s official integration mechanism: an OAuth 2.0 connection under a developer key that the school’s own Canvas administrators issue and scope, granted through the campus’s standard third-party-tool review.
