Privacy, in plain language.

Tardy is a productivity app for students. We collect only what the app needs to work, we don’t sell your data, and we don’t track you across other apps or websites.

What we collect

Account

We use Sign in with Apple. We receive your Apple user identifier and, if you share them, your name and email. We never see your Apple ID password.

Academic data

If you connect Canvas, Tardy imports assignments and events through the read-only calendar feed link you provide from Canvas. Tardy never asks for your Canvas password, and the feed cannot see grades, submissions, or messages. The link is stored securely, and you can disconnect it in Settings at any time. Where a school has approved an official Tardy integration, Tardy may additionally read course, assignment, and grading-weight details through that school-issued connection.

Calendar data

With permission, Tardy reads and writes events in Apple Calendar and Google Calendar. Calendar contents are not uploaded to our servers.

AI chat

Messages sent to the assistant are relayed through our server to our AI provider to generate replies. Please don’t include sensitive personal information in chat.

Website waitlist

If you join the waitlist, we store your email address—and, if you choose to share them, your school and whether you are open to helping bring Tardy to it—so we can send launch updates and gauge campus interest. An access-controlled Google Sheet gives authorized Tardy administrators a working copy of the waitlist. You can ask us to remove your information at any time.

What we don’t do

• No ads or sale of personal data.
• No data brokers.
• No tracking across other apps or websites.
• No financial or banking data.

Storage and security

Connection secrets, including your Canvas calendar link and Google credentials, are stored encrypted. Third-party API keys stay on our servers and are never included in the app. Server-side app data is stored in Firebase under your account identifier.

Students and minors

Tardy is designed for college students. Some users may be under 18, and we deliberately collect the minimum information required for each feature. Tardy is not directed at children under 13.

Your choices

You can disconnect Canvas or Google Calendar in Settings. For privacy questions, waitlist removal, or account-deletion requests, contact tardyadmin@tardyplanner.app.

Changes

We may update this policy as Tardy changes. The latest revision date will always appear at the top of this page.
